A former trainee lawyer, John left practice to pursue his passion for helping animals. He went back to study at the University of Glasgow where he obtained a distinction and UFAW class prize in his MSc in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law, before going on to work as a Research Assistant in chicken welfare, also at the University of Glasgow. Since his contract came to an end he has been living at SABRC as a residential volunteer.

I believe that all sentient beings should be treated with compassion and respect, regardless of their species. SABRC promotes these values and also educates people about different animals' behavioural needs and how to give them the best lives possible.
